I leave Cincinnati this morning, weather permitting,to return to an Arkansas filled with sorrow. Our area was again beset by storms that have taken so much from so many. The area hit was 30 miles or so from our farm and I know many people in both Mayflower and Vilonia. Mayflower was just recovering from the ruptrure of an oil pipeline that nearly brought the town to standstill. Now this.
My friend here in Ohio and I discovered in 1968 that there is no certainty promised in life. And the events of yesterday reinforce the fact that the joy of life is best enjoyed at the moment and not postponed for more opportune times. Maybe we can learn from this tragedy to pay more attention to the present. I know I will.
More tomorrow.
